API-FRICTION.mdbefore changing the public API, examples, adapters, or production migrations. - While using the API, record observed friction in
API-FRICTION.mdwhen work requires an unexpected workaround, assertion, duplicated setup, hidden import, unclear ownership boundary, or repeated correction. - Log evidence from the actual task. Do not add speculative wishlist items.
- Classify each finding as an API, documentation, skill, application, or tooling concern. Resolve it at the narrowest correct layer.
- Update an existing entry instead of creating duplicates. Include the verification that closes a resolved entry.
- Author public documentation only in the root
docs/tree. Thepackages/charts-core/docstree and bothllms.txtfiles are generated bypnpm docs:sync; never edit those generated copies directly. - In Codex on macOS, run Playwright/Chromium commands with escalated sandbox
permissions on the first attempt. The restricted sandbox blocks Chromium's
Mach bootstrap services; do not probe browser launches inside it. This
includes
benchmark,benchmark:stress:*, and browser-backedconformance.
