The tap couldn't install anything:

  • version "2.0.0" (no binaries exist for that release).
  • sha256 "PLACEHOLDER_…" checksums.
  • bottle :unneeded, which current Homebrew rejects.

Changes

  • Formula/dbdiff.rb: 3.0.0-rc.27, with real SHA-256s for darwin-arm64/x64 and linux-arm64/x64. It's written by scripts/update-formula.sh <version>, which downloads each release asset and hashes it.
  • update.yml: runs daily, or on demand for a given version.
    • It follows DBDiff's releases with the same rule as npm's latest tag: the newest pre-release until a stable release exists, then stable only.
    • It commits the new formula, then runs the tests.
    • It needs only this repo's own token.
  • test.yml: brew install + brew test on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux (x64 and ARM), on every push and PR.
  • README: 3.x usage; the old examples were 2.x syntax. The empty package.json is removed.

Verified: in the homebrew/brew image, brew install + brew test pass and dbdiff --version prints DBDiff 3.0.0-rc.27. This PR's own run covers macOS.

The formula said 2.0.0, carried placeholder checksums, and used
bottle :unneeded, which current Homebrew rejects. It is now written by
scripts/update-formula.sh from a release's assets, and update.yml follows
DBDiff's releases daily. test.yml installs and tests it on macOS (Apple
Silicon, Intel) and Linux (x64, ARM).
