Mark the upper word of the UHID vendor ID to prevent xpadneo and its udev rules from claiming virtual Xbox One and Series devices. Preserve the consumer-visible Xbox identity, Guide chords, trigger rumble, and battery reporting. Add kernel identity assertions and SDL2/SDL3 Guide chord regression coverage. Validate with 144 unit tests and five native consumer tests with xpadneo Guide shift mode enabled. Fixes #191

This works. Applied this patch to stable sunshine (2026.914.233613). Tested with controllers:
Steam and Linux now shows the Xbox Series X controller instead of the Xbox 360. Thanks! |

Also one small note: When setting up the DualSense controller for RetroArch via sunshine / moonlight, I needed to unset "Map Back/Select to Touchpad Click" because the 'select' button (my hotkey) would register as a mouse click (mouse event is faster). This was very confusing and took me a little while to figure out. In my experience/opinion, this setting should be disabled by default. I think it can also be fixed in RetroArch by delaying mouse events, but be aware that this can happen in certain applications. |
