[bug] graph-sweep.sh refuses catalog build_mode='source', which is all REFRESH CATALOG FULL produces on mxcli v0.24.0 #259
What broke: project-bin/graph-sweep.sh (lines 102-114) faults unless catalog_meta.build_mode is full. mxcli v0.24.0 writes source even after REFRESH CATALOG FULL, and that catalog already holds the full reference edges. So the sweep can never run on this mxcli.
Command / script run (exact invocation): bash bin/graph-sweep.sh --module <Module> after REFRESH CATALOG FULL.
Expected vs. actual:
Expected: the sweep runs on a fresh full catalog.
Actual, exit 2:
FAULT: catalog build_mode is 'source'; reference edges require 'full'.
The refs table had 5,368 typed rows. Catalog mtime equalled the .mpr's, so it was not stale. Installed copy byte-identical to master 2fcdf5e.
Field evidence:
A consuming project (Mendix 11.14.0, macOS, toolkit 2fcdf5e, mxcli v0.24.0). All four module reviews on 2026-10-10 recorded the sweep as "Instrument FAULT". A local copy changing only line 113 to if [ "$BUILD_MODE" != "full" ] && [ "$BUILD_MODE" != "source" ]
ran normally (one module: 70 elements, 1 inbound / 38 outbound edges, 0 orphaned microflows).
Proposed fix (hypothesis):
Accept source as well as full. Better: test for what the sweep needs, not a label. Fault only if the refs table is empty or has zero edges of kind call. Name the mode found and the edge count in the message.
Fixed by #307, which landed on master in the integration squash #329 (commit 31e90ae) after independent review. Closing; reopen if it still reproduces on master.
