Some edits cannot safely go through mxcli — in our case 6 microflow edits whose decision branches rejoin early (mxcli #923), where describe → exec would change the flow. They had to be done by hand in Studio Pro (3) or by a targeted BSON patch (3). The toolkit has rules about naming widgets in such instructions (learned-page-patterns.md) and handoff-to-studio-pro.md covers handing over a whole model, but nothing covers a targeted manual-step list as a deliverable.

What worked, improvised:

• one section per edit: document by full path, the exact text to insert and where (anchor line), why mxcli can't do it
• a "Check" per edit that a person can run in the app
• a status line per step: done by hand (commit) / done by patch (script, gate row) / pending
• the dependency order (the new attributes must exist before the hand edit)

Proposal

A manual-steps template + skill section, a status/gate-check row that counts pending manual steps, and the rule that a manual step done by patch still goes through exec.sh --patch.

Field context: a 127-module production Mendix 11.12 app (17,500 model units), 11 backlog features delivered in 4 rounds with Claude Code + mxcli v0.24 + this toolkit. Details anonymized.
