Assert aria-expanded="true" while the picker is open.
The Enter and Space tests assert aria-expanded="false" only after Escape. They do not verify the required open-state value. A regression could leave the picker open while reporting the trigger as collapsed and still pass these tests. Add the assertion after the search field receives focus in both tests.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick winKeep the country trigger wide enough for both icons.
InputGroup.Startgives this Button a square shape. The shared Button then sets its width to the size-specific icon width: 24px, 28px, or 32px. The 16px flag and chevron already need more space than that once the gap and padding are included. The content can extend into the calling-code area, while the button’s clickable box remains narrow. Setshape='default'or override the fixed width for this trigger. 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Restore a visible keyboard-focus indicator for country search.
When the picker moves focus to the search input, countrySearchInput removes its outline in normal color mode. The new search row has no focus-dependent treatment, and the ghost input style also removes its outline. Unlike the previous input group, the search field therefore has no visible focus border or ring. Add a :focus-visible treatment to the input or a focus-dependent treatment to the row; keep the forced-colors outline. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Based on learnings, “Flag it when no visible focus indicator remains, whether native or custom.”

Preserve a visible selected-country indicator after keyboard navigation.
The selected country is initially highlighted when the picker reopens because it becomes active. useListNavigation then moves activeIndex to another option. Since phone-input styles only [data-active], the selected country has no separate visible cue. Restore Combobox.OptionIndicator or add a distinct [data-selected] style.

Description
Match the phone input country selector to the Figma design. The country trigger uses the button primitive with local styles and no hover fill. It retains the keyboard focus ring, disabled appearance, and touch target.
Keep emoji flags centered inside 16×16 containers, use the secondary foreground for the chevron, and use the primary foreground for the calling code and number. Tighten the chevron-to-divider gap to 8px and the number's leading padding to 6px.
Match the country picker search row to the Select Country design. It uses a flat 32px row with a bottom divider, a 16px search icon, and the default placeholder
Search. The search, country list, and country options use combobox primitives with local Figma styles and shared scrolling styles. Custom placeholders and keyboard selection remain supported. Country rows use the design's 32px height, a 20px flag slot, 14px regular country names, and 12px calling codes. Their padding, gaps, and active fill follow the design. The extra checkmark column is removed, and long calling codes can expand their slot to avoid overlapping names.Align the search text with country names and the trigger flag with the country flags. The follow-up corrects the remaining 4px search offset and 1px flag offset.
