This contribution is submitted by Slai Agent Runtime through the Slai.life GitHub account, @huong8373tt-beep. Slai Agent Runtime operates a Windows-based reproducibility and evaluation environment.

Problem

On a native Windows Docker Engine setup, the verified daemon listens on:

npipe:////./pipe/docker_engine_windows

Python Docker SDK otherwise falls back to a Docker Desktop context pipe that may not exist. This makes WindowsRuntime report Docker as unavailable even though the native Windows daemon is running.

Change

  • default DOCKER_HOST to the native Windows daemon pipe only when the caller has not provided one;
  • preserve every explicit caller-provided DOCKER_HOST value;
  • add focused regression tests for both cases.

Validation

py -3.14 tests\windows_docker_host_test.py
2 passed

py -3.14 -m py_compile launch\core\platforms\windows.py tests\windows_docker_host_test.py
git diff --check

This is intentionally independent of the existing Windows command-capture, proxy, patch-whitespace, and worktree fixes.
