clicking PR number opens two github tabs since 0.166.0 #8955

Description

  • Extension version: 0.166.0
  • VSCode Version: 1.137.0
  • OS: Pop! OS 24.04 LTS
  • Repository Clone Configuration (single repository/fork of an upstream repository): ❌
  • GitHub Product (GitHub.com/GitHub Enterprise version x.x.x): ❌

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open PR
  2. Click here Image
  3. Two PR tabs are opened (for dprint updates jorenham/optype#836 in this case)

Perhaps this regression was introduced by #8919 ?

    Yes, same for me. It used to ask permissions to open the link in the external browser but it had already opened one window before asking. After eventually I clicked "dont ask again", now always 2 windows are opened.

    I haven't been able to reproduce this issue. Marcel Wijnands (@mwijnands) and Gary Burgmann (@garyburgmann) what OS are you using?

    FWIW; here's the relevant-ish config I've been using

    I'm using Windows 11 Pro. And using v1.141.0 of VS Code now. And it still happens.

    What setting was that exactly? Because that might be usable as workaround.

    githubPullRequests.openPullLinks. It will be enabled by default in the next pre-release version of the extension too.
