MSYS2's CLANG64 and CLANGARM64 (Windows on ARM) environments ship clang and LLVM tools, but not gcc or GNU binutils. config.msys2.default.mk hardcoded $(MINGW_PREFIX)/bin/gcc and g++, so make failed straight away in those shells. scripts/msys2/install_dependencies.sh already installs clang for both environments.

  • config.msys2.default.mk: when MSYSTEM is CLANG64 or CLANGARM64, use clang / clang++, and llvm-ar / llvm-windres when present (falling back to ar / windres). UCRT64 and MINGW64 are unchanged.
  • vscode template c_cpp_properties.json (Win32): replace the non-existent C:/msys64/mingw64/i686-w64-mingw64/include with C:/msys64/mingw64/include, which is where the MSYS2 package headers (glfw, cairo, curl…) live.

This pairs with openframeworks/projectGenerator#648, which lets PG generate msys2 / VS Code projects for UCRT64, MINGW64, CLANG64 or CLANGARM64.

The toolchain selection was checked by evaluating the makefile with each MSYSTEM. I haven't compiled on a Windows / Windows-on-ARM machine yet.

MINGW64 is no longer supported (openframeworks#8589); the MSYS2 build task, include
paths and compiler now use UCRT64.
