📋 Summary

This PR removes the plugin-declared "Ignore certificate errors" checkbox from the 10 plugins that still have one, so they use the toggle SquaredUp now adds to every plugin built on WebAPI (SAAS-10250). That matches every other plugin and makes the option consistent across them.

For each plugin I've removed the ignoreCertificateErrors field from ui.json, removed the ignoreCertificateErrors mapping from base.config where there was one (7 of the 10), and bumped the patch version. The mapping has to go along with the field: the platform skips any plugin whose base.config sets the key, so leaving it would remove the option altogether.

Existing data sources keep their setting, because the toggle uses the same config key. On Ivanti ITSM the option moves out of the "Advanced options" group to the bottom of the form. Phare keeps its deliberate "ignoreCertificateErrors": false opt-out.

I've also updated the build-plugin skill and REVIEW.md, so the field and the mapping get removed together, and new plugins that declare the field get flagged.

Important

Please don't merge until the release containing squaredup/saas#10098 is in prod. Before then, prod forms for these plugins would lose the option.

This touches 10 plugins in one PR on purpose, so the one-plugin-per-PR check will fail. I validated locally instead.

🧪 Testing

squaredup validate (CLI 1.2.2) passes for all 10 plugins. I also checked each edited ui.json and metadata.json is the original minus the field and mapping, with nothing else changed.

Once this is deployed to dev, open a NetBox data source that had the box ticked. It should show the "Ignore certificate errors" toggle turned on.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Configuration

    • The platform-provided Ignore certificate errors toggle is available for WebAPI plugins, replacing plugin-specific versions of the setting. Some plugins may no longer display a separate checkbox.
    • A user-supplied value, including one provided through the API, still takes precedence over the plugin’s base configuration. The toggle is hidden when that configuration explicitly sets the option to false.
  • Documentation

    • Updated setup guidance to clarify when to enable certificate-error handling, including for self-managed instances using self-signed or private CA certificates.

SquaredUp now adds an Ignore certificate errors toggle to every plugin
built on WebAPI, unless the plugin declares the field or sets the key in
base.config. Ten plugins still declared their own checkbox, so they
showed it instead of the platform toggle.

Remove the ui.json field and the base.config mapping together (leaving
the mapping would stop the platform adding its toggle), and bump each
plugin's patch version. Stored data sources keep their value because the
toggle uses the same config key. Phare keeps its literal false opt-out.

Tell build-plugin to remove the ui.json field and base.config mapping
together when editing a plugin that still has one, and ask reviewers to
flag either in new plugins.

📝 Walkthrough

Multiple plugins remove the ignoreCertificateErrors UI field and applicable metadata setting. Their metadata versions are updated. Repository guidance and setup documentation also change to describe the setting and its use.

Plugin UI configurations remove the ignoreCertificateErrors checkbox. Applicable metadata configurations remove the setting, and plugin metadata versions are updated.

Guidance clarifies how hiding the toggle relates to user-supplied values and base.config. Setup text changes “tick” wording to “turn on.”

Priority: ➖ Normal

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 33692

Merging before the platform release is live would remove the "Ignore certificate errors" option from ten plugins' setup forms. Users connecting to servers with self-signed or private-CA certificates could then be unable to configure their data sources. The change also breaks the repository's one-plugin-per-PR rule, so CI fails.

The validate-and-deploy check is failing only on the one-plugin-per-PR scope check, which is expected for this bulk change. The version bump checks pass for all 10 plugins.

I ran squaredup validate (CLI 1.2.2) locally against each changed plugin, and all 10 passed:

Plugin Result
EcoStruxureIT-DCE/v1 valid
Healthchecks.io/v1 valid
Ivanti-ITSM/v1 valid
Jaeger/v1 valid
Kubernetes/v1 valid
NetBox/v1 valid
OpenSearch/v1 valid
ProxmoxVE/v1 valid
TeamDynamix/v1 valid
VeeamBackupReplication/v1 valid

The commit since then only changes the skill guidance (.claude/skills/build-plugin/references/ui.md), so it doesn't affect these results. That failing check can be ignored for this PR.

Hold the merge until SaaS Release-70325 is live in prod (scheduled for Mon 19 Oct, 11:43 BST). Community plugins deploy to prod straight away, and these plugins rely on the platform toggle in that release.
