export customized views via the REST API the way you can do that now with tabcmd:

Closing — implemented in PR #1506 (Feature: export custom views), which added populate_image, populate_pdf, and populate_csv on server.custom_views. Docstrings for the methods were added in PR #1540. SVG format support was later added in PR #1755. Requires REST API 3.18+ (Tableau Cloud December 2022 / Server 2023.1).
