Why do you want to contribute?

Hey Trigger.dev team — I’d like to start contributing here because the product and repo are very aligned with the kind of systems work I want to build a reputation around: workflow orchestration, background jobs, agent infra, reliability, and developer tooling.

I’ve been spending a lot of my OSS time lately on SDK and infra-heavy fixes, and I’m looking to contribute to projects where small correctness/perf fixes actually matter to users and maintainers.

I already cloned the repo, read through AGENTS.md and CONTRIBUTING.md, and took a first pass over the codebase.

For a first issue, I’d like to take on something scoped and testable rather than anything broad. The two issues that looked like the best fit were:

My preference is to start with #3726 because it looks tighter, easier to verify, and like a good first contribution to build trust.

Prior contributions or relevant experience

• I’ve recently opened a few focused upstream fixes in exa-labs/exa-py and exa-labs/exa-js around typed SDK gaps and request behavior:
  • fix: accept structured monitor run output content exa-labs/exa-py#209
  • fix: add education history typing for person entities exa-labs/exa-js#169
  • fix: support AbortSignal in SDK requests exa-labs/exa-js#170
• My strongest areas are TypeScript/Python, SDKs, agent tooling, backend reliability, and writing regression tests around small but real bugs.
• I generally prefer compact PRs with one issue per branch, clear test coverage, and low-noise maintainer interaction.
